For the second time in the Tour des Deux Sevres we had a stage in the morning and in the afternoon. They are definitely not my favourite days.
This time it was a TT of 11km in the morning and a road stage of 96 km in the afternoon.
The TT didn't go overly well. I tried to post a good time despite the tired legs, but went out a bit too hard and payed for it in the last three kilometers. A non satisfying 28th place was the result.
The stage in the afternoon was absolutely horrible! Once again attack after attack went and once again I found myself checking my tires to see if I had punctured. The answer was I did. Both legs!
Crosswind, heat, road furniture, corners and punchy climbs made it hard to hang on sometimes but somehow I managed.
Thibault took the good escape and finished ahead of the peloton but had to be happy with second place because he had the same problem with his bike like he did in the TTT; his gears were stuck in one place.
A pity but at least he gained some time again in the general classification.
